Tooth Powder with Hydroxyapatite and Probiotics

Tooth powder – the refillable alternative to toothpaste
Tooth powder is oral care in its purest form: finely ground cleaning and care ingredients, completely water-free and without preservatives. You sprinkle a small amount onto your dry toothbrush, brush as usual – and immediately feel how smooth clean teeth can be. Rich in minerals, inspired by nature: Our tooth powders combine hydroxylapatite, probiotics and xylitol with gentle polishing agents that clean thoroughly.
What's in it – and why
- Hydroxylapatite: the main component of your tooth enamel. Contained in our powders as micro-hydroxylapatite – deliberately without nanoparticles. It supports the natural remineralisation of your tooth enamel.
- Probiotics: support the natural balance of your oral flora – for a mouth feel in equilibrium.
- Xylitol: birch sugar contributes to a balanced oral environment.
- Gentle polishing agents: gently remove plaque and surface discolouration – for the natural appearance of your teeth.
All formulations are vegan, fluoride-free, without artificial colourings and without microplastics – made in Germany, every ingredient can be viewed on the product page.
Which variety suits you?
- Crisp Mint: clear, fresh mint – the classic for those who like it noticeably fresh.
- Soothing Mint Sensitive: mild mint, extra gentle formulation – ideal if your teeth are sensitive.
- Orange-Mandarin Sensitive: fruity-mild with no mint – popular with children and everyone who doesn't like mint.
Undecided? The get-to-know-us bundle brings all three varieties to you – the starter set combines your favourite variety with the reusable brown glass jar.

Frequently asked questions about tooth powder
What is tooth powder and how does it work?
Tooth powder is the water-free form of tooth cleaning: finely ground cleaning particles, minerals and care ingredients. When brushing, it combines with your saliva to form a gentle cleaning cream that gently removes plaque – without preservatives and without binders.
Is tooth powder good for your teeth?
High-quality tooth powder cleans thoroughly and gently: The polishing agents remove plaque, hydroxylapatite supports the natural remineralisation of your tooth enamel, xylitol contributes to a balanced oral environment. What's important is a finely balanced formulation – that's exactly what we develop our powders for.
Does Dentafari tooth powder contain micro or nano-hydroxylapatite?
We use micro-hydroxylapatite – particles in the micrometre range, deliberately without nanoparticles. This way we're fully transparent: you can find every ingredient in full on the respective product page.
How do I use tooth powder correctly?
Sprinkle a small amount onto your dry toothbrush and brush as usual for two minutes. Then rinse. Tip: If the start feels too dry for you, dampen the brush slightly after picking up the powder.
How long does a pouch of tooth powder last?
A 100 g refill lasts about four months with twice-daily brushing, a 50 g pouch about two months – depending on how often you use it. This means one pouch replaces several tubes of toothpaste.
What's the difference between tooth powder and toothpaste?
Toothpaste consists largely of water, humectants and binders. Tooth powder does without these and concentrates on the essentials: cleaning particles and care ingredients. That's why it doesn't need preservatives, is more economical and can be refilled in a plastic-reduced glass jar.
Is the tooth powder suitable for children?
Our formulations are fluoride-free and suitable for both adults and children – the mint-free Orange-Mandarin variety is particularly popular with children. For a family start, there's the children's dental care set and the family set with all three varieties.

It is concentrated, economical, does without preservatives, is more sustainably packaged and provides a clean, smooth tooth feel.
Hydroxyapatite is a mineral similar to natural tooth enamel and a central component of our formula. When brushing it provides a smooth tooth feel. There are scientific studies on hydroxyapatite in oral care – how you judge it is up to you.
Yes. The Soothing Mint and Orange-Mandarin varieties rely on particularly mild cleaning particles such as hydrated silica as well as a heat-treated probiotic technology, making them a gentle choice for sensitive teeth and delicate gums.
Yes, tooth powder can be used by children – ideally a mildly formulated, pleasantly flavoured variety. We recommend accompanying children while brushing; and if a little powder is swallowed, that's harmless.
Toothbrushes with soft bristles are best – they take up the powder well and distribute it gently. Bamboo toothbrushes are particularly sustainable. Electric sonic toothbrushes with soft bristles are also perfectly suitable.
Our formula combines, among other things, hydroxyapatite, the enzymes papain (from papaya) and bromelain (from pineapple), xylitol as well as gentle polishing particles such as silica and calcium carbonate. Together they provide a thoroughly cleaned, smooth tooth feel with daily brushing.
Put a small amount of powder on the toothbrush – it's best to sprinkle it on rather than dipping the wet brush into the jar, so no water gets in. Then brush as usual for about two minutes.
A 50 g refill lasts – depending on how often you carry out your oral care ritual – about 2 months, a 100 g refill about 4 months.
