Frequently asked questions about tooth powder
What is tooth powder and how does it work?
Tooth powder is the water-free form of tooth cleaning: finely ground polishing particles, minerals and care substances. When brushing, it combines with your saliva to form a mild cleaning paste that gently removes plaque – without preservatives and without binders.
Is tooth powder good for your teeth?
High-quality tooth powder cleans thoroughly and gently at the same time: The polishing agents remove plaque, hydroxylapatite supports the natural remineralisation of your tooth enamel, xylitol contributes to a balanced oral environment. What matters is a finely balanced formulation – that's exactly what we develop our powders for.
Does Dentafari tooth powder contain micro- or nano-hydroxylapatite?
We use micro-hydroxylapatite – particles in the micrometre range, deliberately without nanoparticles. This is how we ensure complete transparency: You'll find every ingredient in full on the respective product page.
How do I use tooth powder correctly?
Sprinkle a small amount onto your dry toothbrush and brush as usual for two minutes. Then rinse. Tip: If the start feels too dry for you, lightly dampen the brush after picking up the powder.
How long does a sachet of tooth powder last?
A 100-g refill lasts about four months with twice-daily brushing, a 50-g sachet about two months – depending on frequency of use. This means one sachet replaces several tubes of toothpaste.
What's the difference between tooth powder and toothpaste?
Toothpaste consists largely of water, humectants and binders. Tooth powder does without these and concentrates on the essentials: polishing particles and care substances. That's why it works without preservatives, is more economical and can be refilled in a glass jar with minimal plastic.
Is the tooth powder suitable for children?
Our formulations are fluoride-free and suitable for both adults and children – the mint-free Orange-Mandarin variety is especially popular with children. For the family start, there's the children's oral care set and the family set with all three varieties.
