What is hydroxylapatite?

In short: hydroxylapatite is a calcium phosphate mineral — and the main component of your tooth enamel, which consists of around 97 % of it. So it's not a foreign substance, but literally the material your teeth are made of. We include it in all three varieties, deliberately without nano-particles (particle size over 100 nm).

The hydroxylapatite we use is obtained through recrystallisation from highly pure calcium carbonate. What makes it special:

  • Balanced calcium-phosphate ratio that supports natural remineralisation
  • Porous structure that supports mineral release
  • Smoothing of the tooth surface for a naturally brighter appearance
  • No nano-particles

How hydroxylapatite works

Hydroxylapatite supplies calcium and phosphate — the natural building blocks of tooth enamel. It supports natural remineralisation and contributes to smoothing the tooth surface, for a naturally brighter appearance through surface smoothing — without bleaching agents, without peroxides. Research has been investigating hydroxylapatite in oral care for years; we evaluate the studies neutrally.

Why we don't mention percentages

Unlike many competitors, we deliberately don't cite percentages for our hydroxylapatite content. An isolated percentage says nothing about quality or effectiveness. What matters is the quality of the hydroxylapatite used and how it's integrated into the overall formula — not a catchy number.

Nano or not? Our approach
