Why we don't publish percentages for hydroxylapatite – and what really matters

Many of our customers ask us: How much hydroxylapatite is in your tooth powder? – Our answer might surprise you: we deliberately don't provide a percentage. Why? Because the sheer quantity tells you nothing about actual effectiveness. In this article, we explain what really matters – and what we focus on with our hydroxylapatite.

More is not better

In the cosmetics and oral care industry, high percentage claims are often advertised – particularly for hydroxylapatite (short: HAp). The problem: these figures are usually marketing tools without scientifically sound benefits. Many consumers believe that more HAp automatically delivers better results. But the opposite can be true – and that's where the misunderstanding begins.

Why we don't publish concentrations

We at Dentafari deliberately don't publish an exact concentration because, viewed in isolation, it has no bearing on the product's quality or effectiveness. Percentage figures are quickly misinterpreted without background knowledge – and the actual product quality remains unclear.

The decisive factors: quality, structure & origin

Our hydroxylapatite is not a nanoparticle – and that's a good thing. Because nanoparticles are so small that they can potentially penetrate body tissue and pose health and environmental risks. Moreover, our HAp is highly porous, has a tooth enamel-like structure and a balanced calcium-phosphate ratio (Ca/P), thus supporting the natural remineralisation of tooth enamel.

What makes our hydroxylapatite so special?

Our HAp is specially functionalised. This means that through its structure, it supports the natural remineralisation of tooth enamel and contributes to smoothing the tooth surface. Read more about it here.

Our formula with functionalised HAp

For genuine oral health, more than just a percentage counts

At Dentafari, we rely on effectiveness through quality – not on eye-catching numbers. For us, transparency means: you should understand what works, not just how much is contained. Discover our tooth powders.
