In a world where sustainability and environmental protection are becoming ever more important, companies face the challenge of offering not only high-quality products but also responsible packaging solutions. At Dentafari, we have deliberately chosen packaging made from mono-plastic – and for good reasons.

What is mono-plastic?

Mono-plastic is a packaging material made from just one type of plastic. Unlike multi-layer packaging, which often combines different materials and is therefore difficult to recycle, mono-plastic is fully recyclable. This means: if it's disposed of correctly, it can be reprocessed – entirely without the laborious separation of individual components.

Why not glass or paper?

Many customers wonder why we don't use glass or paper packaging. The answer lies in the product itself: tooth powder is extremely sensitive to moisture and must be stored dry and airtight. Paper is renewable, but doesn't offer sufficient protection. Glass is heavy and energy-intensive to produce.

Advantages of mono-plastic packaging

  • 100% recyclable (when disposed of correctly)
  • Light and therefore CO₂-saving in transport
  • Air- and moisture-tight
  • Durable
  • Meets the highest hygiene requirements for cosmetic products

"Designed for Recycling" – what that means

Our packaging meets the criteria of the "Designed for Recycling (plastic)" eco-label. The most important requirements:

  • Mono-material made of LDPE: LDPE is currently considered the most suitable material for flexible packaging, as it is the most widely accepted in the existing recycling infrastructure.
  • No carbon-black colouring: Black packaging cannot be detected by near-infrared sorting machines and often ends up being incinerated.
  • No rigid plastic parts: Rigid components disrupt sorting. Our packaging consists entirely of flexible material.
  • Minimum size 5×5 cm: Smaller packaging is not detected by many sorting facilities. Our pouches meet this minimum size.

This label is no guarantee of actual recycling, but it shows that the product has been prepared for reprocessing as best as possible.

What you can do
