Why we don't publish percentages for hydroxyapatite - and what really counts

Many customers ask us: How much hydroxyapatite does your tooth powder contain? - Our answer may come as a surprise: We deliberately do not give a percentage. Why? Because the pure amount says nothing about the actual effectiveness. In this article, we explain what really counts - and why Dentafari is setting new standards when it comes to dental health.

More is not always better

The cosmetics and dental care industry often advertises with high percentages - especially for hydroxyapatite (HAp for short). The problem is that these figures are usually marketing tools without any scientifically substantiated benefit. Many consumers believe that more HAp automatically delivers better results. But the opposite can be the case - and this is where the misunderstanding begins.

Why we do not publish concentrations

At Dentafari, we deliberately do not publish exact concentrations because, taken in isolation, they are not indicative of the quality or effect of the product. Competitors use percentages to distinguish themselves in a supposed competition. However, without background knowledge, such values are quickly misinterpreted - and the actual product quality remains in the dark.

The decisive factors: quality, structure & origin

The hydroxyapatite we use is not a nanoparticle - and that's a good thing. This is because nanoparticles are so small that they can potentially penetrate body tissue and pose health and environmental risks. In addition, our HAp is highly porous, has a structure close to tooth enamel and an ideal calcium-phosphate ratio (Ca/P), which is crucial for effective remineralization.

The quality of our HAp is based on:

- Production from high-purity calcium carbonate through controlled recrystallization

- Porous structure for maximum ion release

- Scientifically proven effect on remineralization and tooth whitening

- Origin from Switzerland with the highest quality standards

What makes our hydroxyapatite so special?

Our HAp is specially functionalized. This means that it not only serves as a mineral base, but also specifically supports tooth hardening, surface smoothing and tooth whitening thanks to its structure. Studies show: The form used by Dentafari significantly outperforms both micronized and nanostructured HAp in terms of its effect. Read more about it here.

Scientifically confirmed: More effect with a better structure

Our proprietary formulation with functionalized HAp:

- Improves the microhardness of the enamel after just a few applications

- Visibly reduces enamel defects

- Increases tooth smoothness, which prevents new deposits

- Promotes natural whitening through remineralizing layer build-up

More than just a percentage counts for real dental health

At Dentafari, we focus on effectiveness through quality - not on bold numbers. Our aim is to offer you dental care that is not only safe, but also sustainable, effective and scientifically sound. The decision not to give percentages is a sign of transparency and responsibility - because we want you to understand what works, not just how much is in it.
